About the Kentucky Lottery

Kentucky Lottery logo

The Kentucky Lottery began in April 1989 following a November vote from the previous year. Their mission is to support education for all Kentuckians, which they fulfill by funding college scholarships and grant programs. Since 1999, the Kentucky Lottery has raised more than $3.3 Billion towards this mission, with all that money having been directed to the state's Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) Scholarship program.

Kentucky Lottery Tickets

Kentucky Lottery tickets are available at more than 3,100 authorized retailers across the state.

Winning tickets are valid for 180 days after the drawing or game's end date (for scratch-offs).

Can I buy KY Lottery tickets online?

Yes, you can purchase Kentucky Lottery tickets through the official website and mobile app, but only for certain games. Currently, only Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky For Life, Cash Ball 225, Keno, and certain instant games can be played online.

Kentucky Lottery Games and Drawing Schedule

Cash Ball 225

Cash Ball 225 is unique to Kentucky and has daily draws. It features a top prize of $225,000, and seven other prize tiers. To play, players must pick 4 numbers from 1 to 35, and an additional Cash Ball number from 1 to 25.

Cash Ball 225 has daily draws at approximately 11:00 PM ET.

Lucky For Life

In Lucky For Life, players vie for the chance to win up to $1,000 every day for life! And with a secondary prize of $25,000 a year for life, it's easy to see why the game is so popular. To play, just pick 5 numbers from 1 to 48, and an additional Lucky Ball number from 1 to 18.

Lucky For Life has drawings every Monday and Thursday at approximately 10:35 PM ET.

Quick Bucks

Quick Bucks is another game that can only be played in Kentucky. It features a top prize of $50,000 and with the Wheel Bet feature, guarantees you a minimum prize of $2 every time. To play, choose 4 numbers from 1 to 31, and a Kentucky Ball number from 1 to 5. After picking your numbers, the computer will assign the order of your chosen numbers. You can win by matching the draw in exact order or in any order. The Wheel Bet feature lets you play your numbers 5 times, while playing all 5 possible Kentucky Ball numbers for you.

Quick Bucks has daily draws at approximately 11:00 PM ET.

5 Card Cash

5 Card Cash combines lotto with Poker. There's two ways to win – instantly and through matching the nightly draw. Buy a ticket, and the computer will automatically print out a hand of 5 cards from a standard Poker deck. If you form any winning hands, you can win up to $5,000 instantly. You can also match the draw and win up to $100,000.

5 Card Cash has daily drawings at approximately 11:00 PM ET.

Keno

Keno is game that lets you choose how many numbers you want to play. You can pick from 1 to 10 numbers from a pool of 80, and with the Bulls-Eye feature enabled, you can win up to $300,000.

Keno is drawn every day every 4 minutes.

Pick 3

In Pick 3, players must pick a set of 3 single-digit numbers from 0 to 9. There are several ways to play and win – by matching the draw in exact or any order, by pair play, by 1-off play, and more. Pick 3 has a top prize of $600.

Pick 3 has twice-a-day drawings, the first at 1:20 PM ET, and the second at 11:00 PM ET.

Pick 4

In Pick 4, players must pick a set of 4 single-digit numbers from 0 to 9. There are several ways to play and win – by matching the draw in exact or any order, by pair play, by 1-off play, and more. Pick 4 has a top prize of $5,000.
