About the Indiana Hoosier Lottery

The Indiana State Lottery started with a successful referendum in 1988. It sold its first scratch card game six months later, with its first draw game starting in April 1990.

Since then, the Indiana Lottery has paid out over $12.2 billion to various winners. The lottery has also generated over $5.3 billion for various state programs. Proceeds are split among three main beneficiary programs: the Build Indiana Fund, the state’s Teachers’ Retirement Fund, and pension programs for local police and firefighters.

Indiana Hoosier Lottery Tickets

Indiana state lottery tickets can be bought from any of the authorized retailers all over the state. You can find the closest retailers by checking the Indiana Lottery website’s “Where to Play” section and searching based on your chosen area or zip code.

Can I buy IN Hoosier Lottery tickets online?

No. Like many state lotteries, the Indiana Hoosier Lottery doesn’t let you buy tickets through the web.

However, you can speed up your ticket purchases by using the IN Lottery mobile app. With the app, you can fill out a digital playslip. The app then creates a unique code that your retailer can scan to print your lottery ticket.

IN Hoosier Lottery Tickets Payment Methods

Authorized retailers take cash payments for Indiana Hoosier Lottery tickets. Depending on the retailer, you can also pay using debit or credit cards.

Indiana Hoosier Lottery Games and Drawing Schedules

Cash4Life

The Indiana Hoosier Lottery participates in the multi-state lottery game, Cash4Life. Players must pick 5 numbers from 1-60 plus a Cash Ball number from 1-4. You can win $1,000 a day for life by matching all 6 numbers. The second prize, $1,000 a week for life, can be won by matching all 5 regular numbers but not the Cash Ball.

Cash4Life draws take place every Monday and Thursday at 9 PM EST.

Hoosier Lotto

The Hoosier Lotto is Indiana’s flagship in-state lottery. The jackpot starts at $1,000,000, and it increases with every draw from the third one since the last jackpot hit.

To play, you must pick 6 numbers from 1-49. To win the jackpot, you must match all 6 winning numbers drawn. All tickets also come with a random multiplier (1X, 2X, 3X, 5X, or 10X) which applies to any non-jackpot prize you hit.

You can win more prizes by playing with +PLUS. Your ticket numbers will automatically be entered into the extra PLUS draw. If you match all the PLUS draw numbers, you win another $1,000,000.

Hoosier Lotto draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 11 PM EST.

Ca$h 5

Ca$h 5 is the only Indiana Hoosier Lottery game with a rolling jackpot. The pot starts at $75,000 and increases by at least $5,000 with every draw where nobody wins.

To play, you must pick 5 numbers from 1-45. If you match all 5 winning draw numbers, you take home the jackpot.

You can also earn instant prizes by adding EZMATCH to your ticket. For an extra $1, EZMATCH adds a set of 5 random numbers to your Ca$h 5 ticket. If your chosen numbers match the EZMATCH set, you can win up to $500 automatically.

Ca$h 5 draws are held every day at 11 PM EST.

Quick Draw

Quick Draw games run twice daily, with top prizes ranging from $300,000 to $2,000,000. To play, you must select 10 numbers from 1 to 80. You can place bets worth $1, $2, $3, or $5, and you can play the morning draw, the evening draw, or both. The maximum amount you can win depends on the value of your bet.

You can win additional prizes by adding Bullseye, EZMATCH, or both. With Bullseye, an extra number is called at every draw. If any of your ticket numbers match the Bullseye number, you can win up to $200,000 extra.

With EZMATCH, meanwhile, you get a set of EZMATCH numbers printed on your ticket. If any of your chosen numbers have matches in this set, you can win up to $500 instantly.

Quick Draw drawings are held every day at 1:20 PM and 11 PM EST.

Daily 4

The Indiana Hoosier Lottery Pick 4 has twice-daily draws and a jackpot of $5000 for each draw. The maximum amount you can win depends on how much you wager and the playstyle you choose. You win the biggest jackpot when your ticket matches the winning draw numbers in exact order.

To play, you must pick 4 numbers, each from 0-9, and choose from the following playstyles:

  • Straight: You must match the winning numbers in the exact order.
  • Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order.
  • Combo: You can match the winning numbers in any order or in exact order. Available only at $1 per ticket.
  • Wheel: You get to play Straight bets for all possible combinations of your chosen numbers, boosting your chance of winning.
  • Front 3/Back 3: You select 3 numbers (instead of 4). These must match the first 3 or the last 3 winning numbers in exact order.
  • 1-OFF: You can select from 1-4 digits that can be one higher or lower than the winning draw numbers. This option doesn’t pay when you hit a Straight.

For all playstyles except 1-OFF, you can add the Superball option for better chances of winning. This allows you to swap out the Superball (a random number picked at every draw) for one of the winning numbers so you can hit a match.

Indiana Daily 4 game draws are held twice a day at 1:20 PM and 11 PM Eastern Time.

Daily 3

Like the Indiana Daily 4, the Daily 3 lottery has twice-daily draws. For this game, there’s a fixed jackpot of $500 at every draw. How much you can win, however, depends on your chosen playstyle and your bet value.

To play, you must pick a number from 000 to 999. You then choose a playstyle and bet value, as well as a draw schedule (day, evening, or both). You win the jackpot when your combination matches the winning draw numbers in exact order.

You can choose from the following playstyles:

  • Straight: You must match the winning numbers in the exact order.
  • Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order.
  • Combo: You can match the winning numbers in any order or in exact order. Available only at $1 per ticket.
  • Wheel: You get to play Straight bets for all possible combinations of your chosen numbers, boosting your chance of winning.
  • Front Pair/Back Pair: You select 2 numbers (instead of 3). These must match the first 2 or the last 2 winning numbers in exact order.

Indiana Daily 3 games take place at 1:20 PM and 11 PM Eastern Time every day.

Lucky Seven

Lucky Seven is one of two “Now & Later” games run by the Indiana Hoosier Lottery. It combines instant play and draw games. You can win up to $7,777 in instant play and $77,777 in the draw game.

To join, you only need to buy a Lucky Seven ticket, valued at $5 each. One portion of the ticket has a scratch-off section that lets you score prizes instantly. The other carries the draw game ticket, which you can enter into any one draw of your choice while the Lucky Seven game is ongoing.

You don’t need to pick any numbers for the draw game. All ticket numbers are generated at random. Just check your instant play numbers, enter your ticket in a draw game, and check to see if you’ve won.

Lucky Seven draws are held every night at 11 PM Eastern Time.

Black Pearl

Black Pearl is the Indiana Hoosier Lottery’s other “Now & Later” game that combines instant play and draw games. Top prizes are fixed at $20,000 for instant play and $500,000 for the draw game.

To join, you only need to buy a Black Pearl ticket, valued at $5 each. Half of the ticket is your instant play card. This will indicate what numbers you need to match (Black Pearl Numbers) and how much you stand to win. You only need to check if your assigned numbers match any of the Black Pearl Numbers.

The rest of the ticket carries your 8 draw game numbers, one of which will be in a Black Pearl symbol. Each draw, a single random number is called. To win the jackpot, all 8 of your ticket numbers must match the winning draw number. If the ticket number in the Black Pearl symbol is one of your matches, you’ll win additional prizes.

For each ticket, you can enter any one draw of your choice while the Black Pearl game is ongoing.
