Winning $768M ($477M Payout) Powerball Ticket Sold in New Berlin, Wisconsin

One winning ticket was sold in Wisconsin for the March 27, 2019 Powerball $768 Million drawing.

A single ticket has been confirmed to have matched all six numbers from the March 27, 2019 Powerball draw. At a whopping $768 million ($477M cash payout), this jackpot stands to be the third largest one in history. (The record for the largest lottery jackpot ever goes to the $1.58B Powerball drawing back in January 13, 2016.)

The winning ticket for this draw was apparently sold somewhere in Wisconsin.

Currently, the identity of the winner is unknown. They have yet to come forward to claim their prize.

UPDATE: Wisconsin Powerball Winner Comes Forward

24-year-old Manuel Franco, a resident of West Allis, a suburb in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was the lucky winner of the $768 million Powerball jackpot. He stepped forward to claim his prize last April 23, 2019 – opting for the single cash payout option.

After taxes, Franco will have an estimated $326 million in his bank account – a massive jump from his previous balance of less than $1,000. “Trying to get the bank account to $1,000 was my big concern,” said Franco in a news conference.

As to what he’ll do with the money, Franco says that he plans to donate some of it to charity.

The $768 Million Draw

The winning numbers for the March 27, 2019 Powerball draw were: 6 20 37 44 62 + 12.

Prior to this draw, the jackpot prize was last won December 26, 2018.

The lucky winner can take home up to $477 million as a single cash payout, or opt for the annuity payment of the full prize in 30 payments over 29 years. A portion of their winnings, around $38 million depending on how the prize is paid out, will go back to the state of Wisconsin. They have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

The Speedway store in New Berlin, WI where the winning ticket was purchased also stands to win. The retailer will also receive a $100,000 tip once the winner has come forward to claim their prize.
