How to Play UK Hot Picks

Pick Your Numbers

You can go with a Lucky Dip and the computer will randomly choose your numbers for you, or you can pick your own numbers and mark up to five numbers from 1 to 59.

Buy Your Ticket

You can buy UK Hot Picks tickets from authorized retailers and online through the National Lottery official website for £1 per play.

Drawing Time and Schedule

UK Hot Picks uses the same draw for UK Lotto, so draw times are similar for the two games – Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:30 PM.

Payouts, Odds, and Rules

In Hot Picks, you can play from 1 to 5 numbers in one game. You are entered into a specific game type depending on how many numbers you choose. For instance, if you pick 1 number, you are entered into Game Type 1, and can only win in that game. That means if you pick 3 numbers and only match 2, you don't win a prize.

Claim Your Prize

Prizes are tax-free! Also, it’s worth noting that prizes are paid out in the form of a lump sum. Finally, like other games under the UK National Lottery, winners of Hot Picks have a maximum of 180 days to claim their prizes. Unclaimed prizes will go to the Good Causes Foundation.

You can claim prizes up to £100 from authorized retailers. Prizes up to £500 can sometimes be claimed at the bigger retailers and some post offices. Prizes up to £50,000 can be claimed at designated post offices or by mail. Prizes over £50,000 must be claimed in person at the National Lottery headquarters.

For online tickets, prizes up to £500 are credited to your player account. Prizes up to £30,000 can be deposited to your registered debit card. Contact the lottery to claim larger prizes.
